What is an energy performance certificate
EPCs were first introduced in 2007 and it is a report that documents a property’s current energy efficiency from grades ‘A’ to ‘G’ with ‘A’ being deemed very energy efficient and ‘G’ being not very energy efficient.. The report also supply the recipient with information on how to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. As of 1 April 2020 under the Domestic Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) a landlord is legally required to have a valid EPC with a rating no lower than E. An EPC is valid for is 10 years and a survey generally covers the following areas:
- Property size (floor area)
- Type of energy used at the property
- Type of appliances and services that consume energy
- Construction and makeup of property
- Location of the property i.e. mid terraced, end of terrace
Areas inspected during an EPC survey
- Energy meters
- Windows (single, double & triple glazed)
- Insulation (Wall, flooring & roof/loft)
- Heating system and heating controls
- Lighting (fluorescent or LED)
- General measurements taken to measure the floor area of the property
- Review any low carbon or zero technology installed at the property i.e. Solar panels etc

Step 1 - Sign up
It only takes 5mins to register your property with our platform.
Step 2 - Job request
When an EPC needs to be carried out at the property the landlord will log a job request with our platform.
Step 3 - Tradesman quote
The landlord will be notified a job request for the property has been raised. Once approved by the landlord our platform will liaise with local vetted epc assessors and provide you with multiple quotes along with their past customers reviews for the job.
Step 4 - Coordinating the job
Once the landlord has selected a quote our platform will liaise with the tenant and appointed professional to coordinate access to carry out the job.
Step 5 - Completed job
Once the job has been signed off by the tenant to confirm it has been completed then the landlord will issued with photos, any relevant supporting information (i.e. report/certificate) and invoice to arrange payment.
Step 6 - Job tracking
We will track all your jobs so you know all the services carried out on your property and the costs to help with our annual accounting.
